It is located near the historic Siri Fort (now in ruins) built by Sultan Alauddin Khalji in 1303 AD & thus gets its name from ‘Siri’ - the ancient city of Delhi.
This Complex, lying on August Kranti Marg in Delhi, is extremely unique in the whole of Southeast Asia. Built next to the Asian Games village by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), the complex spreads over an area of about 13 Hectares. The extending acres are surrounded by lush green lawns & a mini-forest. The complex boasts of a total of 12 tennis courts including 8 synthetic courts & a tennis practice wall.
From Badminton to Squash Courts, Table Tennis to Billiards/Snooker, all indoor sports have been taken care of. Outdoor games such as Basket Ball, Hockey, Cricket & Football etc have separate play areas. The complex does not miss out on areas for a Jogging Track, Children’s Park, Skating Rink, Golf Driving Range, Pitch & Putt Course, Olympic Size Swimming Pool, Toddlers Pool & an Air Rifle/Pistol Shooting Range.
With a range of facilities such as a Gym, Fitness Centre, Naturopathy Centre and a Health & Nutrition Centre or various other relaxing activities such as Aerobics, Yoga, Taekwondo & Reiki there is much to see & do. There is also a Sports Shop inhabited in the complex. If you wish to grab a bite after a long tiring game, then head straight to the Snack Bar or the Coffee Shop.
Built over an area of approximately 13,000 Sq Ft & constructed with the Canadian lumber-hemlock from the British Columbia & the Maple from Quebec, a multipurpose indoor stadium has been recently added in the complex to host various events.
The complex remains closed on Mondays & National holidays, ie, Republic Day, Independence Day & Gandhi Jayanti. Membership for the Siri Fort Sports Complex is available at a very nominal fee.
