Dastkar Green Mela 2013
Dastkar, in partnership with Delhi Tourism, presents a vibrant basket of hand-picked Organic and Eco-friendly products in an all-natural Dastkar Green Mela at the Nature Bazaar venue in Andheria Modh. Small producers, craftspeople and environmental organizations will come together to celebrate the ethos of a green and people-friendly world. Dastkar has always supported traditional craft skills and handmade products using locally available resources, thereby promoting sustainable development and environmental conservation.
What to Expect
At the Dastkar Green Mela, experience the beauty of furniture, decoratives and gift-items emerging from humble clay, plant fibres, cane & wood. Go Green this season with organic cotton & wool weaves complemented by bags and accessories in Banana, Jute & Khus. Treat your body with nourishing herbal scrubs, oils and soaps. Repel insects, fertilize plants and be healthier with chemical free products based on traditional ingredients and ancestral knowledge. Enjoy the rich tastes of organic honey, teas, pulses and preserves. Pottery, plants and flowers will also be available.
Through fun interactive Demonstrations & Workshops learn about greening small spaces as well as organic fertilizer & composting practices that help preserve the environment. Support the work of NGOs working with children and women, making recycled products in paper, fabric and leather.
Also the Food Court will offer a special selection of organic & healthy foods and snack as well as traditional thirst-quenching chhachh, lassi & fruit juices.

Dastkar, a national NGO working with crafts and craftspeople for over three decades, strongly believes in crafts as catalytic tool for social and economic empowerment and earning. Partnering with Delhi Tourism, it is developing the Nature Bazaar venue in Andheria Modh as a craft and cultural hub, linking South Delhi and Gurgaon.
