Description

Driving past the dusty roads of the Delhi-Jaipur Hwy is worth all the effort, if you are going to visit Neemrana - the old fortress that has been transformed into a heritage resort. Built in 1464, the Neemrana Fort Palace is an 11-tiered fort palace which is spread over an area of 2.5 Hectares. This heritage resort is just the right place to set the mood for relaxation or celebration as it weaves simplicity 7 style together.

Away from the hustle-bustle of the metropolitan life, the breathtaking views & the mesmeric appeal offer a chance to reconnect with nature - The scenic settings, world class spa & gym, the sumptuous buffet, a hanging garden and a limpid swimming pool provides for a classic experience, et al.

Once Upon a Time

Now a heritage resort, the fortress was once the proud property of the Chauhan Kingdom which experienced troubles with the British marching in. After the stint with the British, in 1947 the fort palace was under Raja Rajinder Singh who soon had to quit living there as its old defensive & protective wall barriers & frontage began to give way. The property was transformed to a heritage resort 40 Yrs later by Aman Nath with Francis Waziarg.

The fort palace has more to offer apart from the relaxing spa 7 breathtaking views. Though efforts have been made to preserve the architectural heritage associated with the fortress’ history, changes have been made to lend relevance in view of the modern lifestyle.

The Structure

Its elegant rooms & suites, aptly titled for their feel, provide a unique chance to see & live history. Each room has its own distinctive character, comfort & feel to it. While the Uma Vilas are known to provide the best westward views & unique stain-glassed fans, Chandra Mahal is known for its large Baithak (bed). The rooms have welcomed prominent personalities from around the world like Kate Winslet, Salman Rushdie, Vikram Seth & Princess Sarah Armstrong Jones amongst others.

Activities & Celebrations

The resort has something in store for everyone. While adventure lovers can enjoy activities like zip-lining, trekking & camel cart tours, foodies can satiate their taste buds with the sumptuous buffet served every day & the auto enthusiasts can opt for a ride in the vintage cars procured by the palace authorities. The Neemrana music foundation also arranges various cultural events on the weekends.

If you are on the lookout for a wedding venue with the perfect combination of tradition, serenity, romance & luxury, Neemrana Fort Palace may just be the location for you. Fairy-tale weddings never seemed so easy. All you've got to do is detail the resort administration about your budgets & other needs and they make sure that the rest unfolds like a dream.

The tariffs for the residents range from Rs 2500-22000 depending upon the room. The non-residents are charged an entry fee of Rs 500 on weekdays & Rs 750 on weekends. Also, charges are extra for the buffet meals.

The best time to experience the serenity of the heritage resort is during the winters. If in Delhi for a while, do go stay at the Neemrana Fort Palace – the perfect getaway.
