Cook Gourmet

Hone the Chef in You

Cooking up a meal is not everyone’s cup of tea; you could either be too lazy or not have enough time on your hands, finding cooking to be a chore, a droning routine more than anything else! If you’ve spent hours trying to follow posh nosh recipes on YouTube, struggling with instructions from concerned mothers over the phone or can barely light a gas stove, Cook Gourmet is here to change all that!

The next time you’re wondering what to cook when entertaining friends, when craving something different as opposed to your repetitive home cooked meals, when looking to impress your loved ones, when seeking a new culinary experience or just a stress buster – the situations may be varied but there remains one answer!

The Concept

Sanny Chaudhary and Daman Kohli launched Cook Gourmet to address not just the need for a good, wholesome, freshly packed gourmet recipe service, but also to provide a fantastic cooking experience right in the comfort of your own home.

Cook Gourmet has eliminated the often tedious process of sourcing a host of the right ingredients/preparation/and wastage by delivering the right ingredients in just the right proportion, so that you can sit back and enjoy your cooking with their super easy recipe instruction card.

So what sets them apart from the likes of other similar models? They are armed with the expert guidance of a celebrated culinary expert, Chef Narender Singh who has been pursuing his passion for food for over 30 years. Having worked with reputed cruise lines and hotel chains worldwide, he brings extensive experience on board. We came to know that Narender plays an integral role right from designing recipes to helping source the best ingredients.

Our Experience

We checked out their website and scrolled through ‘What’s Cooking’ where everything is segregated by ‘Last Week’, ‘This Week’ and ‘Next Week’ showcasing a smorgasbord of dishes that can be conjured up on the basis of individual skills. So if it’s Thai Chicken on one day, it could be Tuscan Risotto or Malaysian curry on another!

What stood out for us was how detailed the information was – from the difficulty levels to preparation time, ratings, ingredients, calorie counts, cooking equipments required for each recipe to a picture-by-picture step of directions and a coming soon video guide!

We went in for the Berlin Spinach Cream Sauce Napped Chilled Water Trout recipe which costed Rs 299 (per portion) and was delivered to us within 2 hours’ time!!

The box came in a special vacuum pack technology that allows the food to stay fresh for up to 4 days (when refrigerated)! Every ingredient was sent out in the exact portions required – be it a pinch of salt or a dash of wine, readily available at arm’s length!

This particular dish took us under half an hour to make, with a print out of step by step directions which made things super easy.  The fish was extremely fresh and when made as per the instructions – came out to be perfectly cooked and well-seasoned!

The accompanying Spinach Cream Sauce was nice, thick and creamy and very much complemented the fish with some lovely toasted multi-grain bread. We enjoyed the end product very much and would highly recommend it.

Typically, any recipe preparation time is between 30 minutes to an hour (at most) with new recipes being offered every week.

They deliver across Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida within 2 hours of receipt of order.

The current pricing model is structured as: Non-Vegetarian box for Rs 299 per portion (minimum order size: 2 portions), Vegetarian box for Rs 249 per portion (minimum order size: 2 portions).

For those of us who believe 'gourmet' translates to being difficult, time consuming, and only the bastion of high end restaurants – Cook Gourmet's recipes will have you consider otherwise.
